- No hot water
If you did not turn on your water heater then there will obviously be no hot water available in the heater. Check the pilot light and if the pilot is working and still you do not get hot water then you need to call a professional to check the heater.
- Not sufficient hot water
If water heater installed is too small as compared to a number of people in your home then often such situation can occur. Therefore, prefer to install right size of water heater based on your family size.
- Water is either too hot or too cold
Often this problem can happen if your thermostat setting has been disturbed. Even by setting proper position of the thermostat, if you do not get water of required temperature then perhaps your thermostat is at fault.
- Water takes longer time to reheat
Usually, this is one of the drawbacks of water heater that uses electricity for heating. Gas heating will be comparatively much faster. Also, due to buildup of sediments, heating elements or thermostat, this problem may occur.
- Lower pressure of hot water
Often such problem can be observed in those homes where ½” galvanized piping has been used for the supply line of water heater. It will be better to replace it with ¾” diameter piping.
- Water is colored
This will indicate that the water heater must be rusting and you must therefore replace anode rod. Sometimes, you may also need to replace water heater to get out of this problem.
- Foul Smelling hot water
If the water heater becomes too old then bacteria get deposited that may cause smell. Therefore, it is necessary to flush out water at certain frequency.
- Hot water leakage
This may often be an annoying problem and such problem can happen if the drain valve is broken or there too much water pressure has been build-up in the tank. You must call a repair professional, in case you observe any water leak.
